Search Aramaic:
You can type in the name you are searching via the Aramaic Keyboard. If this search does not return results (although it should) you can copy the most common names from the “Transcription” site. If you still can not find the name you are searching there, try the Alphabetical Index The “Transcription”-Site also offers a variety of different Transcriptions for the most common names within the Literature. If you are searching for a name you only know in vocalized transcription, chances are that you will find it there. Simply click on the Aramaic version of the name and it will search for you. Search Greek: Best results are obtained by searching for just the plain Greek letters of a name, without Accents.
Search for Date:
If you want to search for a Range of Inscriptions before the Common Era, type in a – before the Date.
Search for Signature
Type in the number of the Inscription in question, i.e. if you search for PAT 0259, type in 0259.
Further options for searching (i.e. religious or social groups, class or type of Inscription, etc.) are under development.
